Soan Papdi recipe

Ingredients   (Measurement Conversion Calculator)

4-inch squares cut from a thin polythene shee
Plain flour - 1 1/2 cups
Sugar - 2 1/2 cups
Charmagaz (melon seed) - 2 teaspoons
Ghee/Butter - 250 gm
Gram flour - 1. 1/2 cups
Water - 1 1/2 cups
Milk - 2 Tablespoons
Cardamom seeds - 1/2 teaspoon, crushed coarsely


Directions

Sieve both flours together. Heat ghee/butter in a heavy saucepan. Add flour mixture and roast on low heat till light golden. Leave aside to cool a little, stirring occasionally. Prepare syrup simultaneously. Take sugar and water in the ratio of 2:1 1/2. Put both in a deep saucepan to boil, stirring occasionally.




Sweet dish, served as dessert, suitable for vegetarians
