Ingredients (Measurement Conversion Calculator) Peeled prawns - 250 gm
Bay leaves - 2
Onion - 3 big, finely chopped
Salt - to taste
Turmeric powder - 1 teaspoon
Potato - 2 big, cut into small cubes
Poppy seeds (Khuskhus) - 3 Tablespoons, paste
Oil - 3 Tablespoons
Red chilli - 2
Sugar - 1/2 teaspoon
Green chilli paste - 1/2 teaspoon
Cumin seeds - 1 pinc
Directions
Heat oil in a pan and fry the prawns until reddish and keep aside. Add bay leaves, red chilli and cumin seeds to the oil. Add potatoes, poppy seeds paste and chilli paste and fry for 5-6 minutes. Add salt and turmeric powder and fry for 5 more minutes. Add little water, prawns and sugar, cover and cook for 10 minutes at low heat. Remove cover when the prawns are tender and leave the curry at low heat until the gravy thickens. Stir from time to time to prevent sticking. Serve hot with any Indian rice or bread item.
